How to Prepare Your Quilt for My Long Arm Quilting Services

Quilt Top

  1. Trim all loose piecing threads.
  2. Press all seams completely flat.
  3. For best results, attach your quilts borders as shown below.
  4. Attach a note which includes your quilt's measurements and which end is the top if you have a preference.

Quilt Batting

  1. You can supply your own batting or I can supply it for you.
  2. I now carry Hobbs 80/20 as I am very happy with how it quilts out. I am confident you will love the feel and drape it gives your quilt.
  3. I can supply specialty battings upon request.

Quilt Back

  1. Backing should be 4" larger than your quilt top on all sides.
  2. Cut off the selvage and place the full width of fabric in the centre of the back with extra piecing on the right and left sides.
  3. Press all seams open.
  4. Press backing fabric to remove all wrinkles and fold neatly for shipping.
